Old Town Canoe I whipped this out as a load for my DHC-2. Who knows, it may even float! |
| ACF-to-TEXT | Thanks to Tony Gondola (http://www.digital-flight.com/), this is THE utility for tweaking ANYTHING on a version 6.xx aircraft, and works well for 7.xx also. |
| Airfoil Hacker | Yves Cuttat built this sophisticated Excel spreadsheet to allow the construction of precise AFL files based on polar tables directly. With both 6.50 and 7.00 compatable outputs. |
| 6-25.DEF6-30.DEF 6-40.DEF6-51.DEF wpn6_601.def (by Andrew Bright) ACF700.def (By Peter Skov) |
These files will let Tony
Gondola's ACF-to-TEXTprogram translate all Austin's new variables. 6.51 verson may not
work on your equipment. For 6.51, check "blownflap_addspeed" variable. For 700,
it produces a SEVEN MEG text file! The files can also be easily converted to use "Namu's" PERL script for BOTH MAC and PC platforms. |
| ACF Reference for 6.25 ACF Reference for 6.51 ACF Reference for 7.00 |
So,
what does it all mean? Hell if I know, but this Excel sheet will give you all of Austin's
notes on the ACF, as well as file addresses of the raw variables. The 6.51 and 7.00
versions include data on the Weapon structure as well. 6.51 & 7.xx version revised to show HEX locations of variables and array positions. Index to 7.63 insruments added. |
| PC PlaneMaker Suite 6.25 | If you are ever tempted by one of
the thousands of 5.xx X-Plane models out there, this set of programs will let you import
the plane into the 6.xx line. (As of this writing, 6.51 loads and flies 6.25 aircraft
models just fine.) The EXE is hacked so it will co-exist with a current 6.xx PlaneMaker
(different menu file names). This will NOT work on its own - it contains only the files needed to get a later version of 6.xx (not 7.xx) to run 6.25. The full "standalone" 6.25 planeMaker is 6.5 meg. |
| Prop-Calcs.Zip | Prop Calculator. This EXCEL spreadsheet will allow you to calculate both tip speeds and pitch values, This is helpful when trying to translate between real-world pitch values and Austin's RPM-and-speed system. |

Alternate interface graphics. This file will let
you set up correct circular sections for body geometry. Improved, with suggested vertex points. |

Legible US Baro settings This texture will result in a legible barometer setting scale for 100% sized instruments. Results at reduced scales are not guaranteed. (It would also be possible to use the digital altimeter and blank out the altitude numerals to get a "work alike" for the older baro set system.) |

Here's a link to Wagner Beskow'sHandy Sheet 3.0. This is a general reference to a variety of helpful calculations. |

Paint-RefHere's the sizes and placements of the picture elements in 6.xx _paint.bmp files. Data is given in Width/height @ Horiz pos/Vert pos form. Its function is superceded by the Skin Conversion Utility of VIC_774's (sure wish I knew his real name...). |
| SCU-Auto | SCU-Auto This Skin Conversion Utility will re-scale 5.xx BMP's and build a 6.xx and 7.xx-compatable .BMP file for the skin and panel. You will have to adjust gage calibration and position for converted files, though. |

Garmin 165 This GPS head will exactly fit behind the Heavy Metal GPS instrument (Alignment will be a trick, though) |

Flip-Flop radio head Just put this image on your panel, and back it up with the business Nav and Com radios. Now you've got a gen-av flip flop head again. |
| Blank Insrument BMP's | If
you use screeen dumps to get perfectly aligned instruments on your custom panels,
temporarily replace your stock "Test_panel.xxxx.BMP" files with these. You will
get calibrated gages. Back up your original files! (I use a
folder named "Stock") Here are the instructions... |
| Reduced terrain mask BMP's | Ben Supnick made a
suggestion about how to increase 6.xx's speed still further. The terrain mask .BMP's are
reduced to 25% of original size, going from 700K to 49K! This: 1) Reduces HD usage by 40 Megabytes 2) Speeds loading of the program by 20% 3) Allows increased resolution with no frame rate hit. A GOOD THING. Austin has included 50% reduction in 6.16, but this file is four times better! |
